Now ya have me wondering why I moved that one to the back.........

I know I moved it the #5 cylinder on the bottom.

Ahhhhh, now I remember..........because it was a BEOCH to get at and I didn't have a wobble socket, so I moved the stud there and used that one on the number 2.

So about how long did this take you? I'm about to embark on this myself and am also curious about any special tools that may be needed.

No special tools needed.

Depending how mechanically inclined you are, it'll take ya about 3 hours or so.

The worst part is getting the studs on the manifold to turbo flange off.

Do yourself a favor and start hitting thost with some PB Blaster NOW.

Thanks man. I'm not reusing the studs. My kit came with new ones. :)

That's cool, BUT getting the old ones out it a BASTARD. That's the problem.

They don't use any anti-seize on them and the metals are dissimilar.

2 of them come out easy, it's the ones that are actually threaded into the manifold itself that are a pain.

Like I said, hit them with some penetrant for a day or two before you do the job. It'll make it a whole lot esier.

Well thank you very much. I think I'm heading out to do that right now.

About to do a stock turbo for turbo swap, is it easier to pull the entire manifold off then split it on a bench or if I am just doing the turbo can it be done without pulling the manifold? If I do pull the manifold will I need a new gasket? Or is the stocker reusable? Thanks in advance. Always love reading your write ups!
