The good mods are gonna be on the CTD more than the truck....sooo you really want to ask the CTD boys.

Want me to move this to their section so they can spend your money.  Cause gosh were good at that.

Depends on what you want out of your truck.

What is your goal?  Do you want a million mile Cummins?  Do you want a 1000 HP Cummins? Do you want a Cummins that gets 28 MPG?

Give the boys a better idea of what you want and they will help you build it :D

i am w/ froGger..... gauges most importantly, then an aero straight thru muffler with a cat delete, bigger air intake, and a programmer preferably a smarty. then if you have some left over put a 2" leveling kit on the front coils and put 35" pro comps on with a nice set of 17" rims. :punk:

or you can donate the left overs to me :helpsmilie:

And if you got an automatic put some seed money away for some upgrades down the road.  The stock auto tranny doesn't like much extra power bieng put through it. :surrender:

Ok thats my fault. I mostly tow a toy hauler so I don't need crazy horse power. 28 MPG would be awesome. I guess i'm looking for that perfect truck that gets good mileage but will pull what I need. And thats true what was said about the tranny takeing a dump sooner or later. Should I start there and work up like new convertor and fuel pump or will I be good just takeing it easy with a programmer for now.

Of course I personally would go for the truck upgrades such as lift, wheels, tires, steering and chassis parts, to make it a more capable trail rig. However, sounds like you use your truck for other stuff, and since a lifted truck will never be able to tow a heavy toy hauler as well as it does now, I suggest going with what the other guys are saying. Get gauges, and a smarty, and then put the rest in a savings account to replace the transmission when the time comes  ;D

Okay.....you all know what I'm gonna say....

First.....GAUGES! NO GAUGES.....NO POWER MODS!

Second, turbo back exhaust (if your state does not do emissions on diesels). MBRP or Silverline.

Third, intake. AFE, S&B, Amsoil Nano.

Next, a new torque converter (Sun Coast or ATS) and a valvebody.

After that, you can apply the power mods and not destroy things. For what you are talking, I suggest the Edge w/ Attitude monitor over a Smarty.

This will give you a nice towing setup and plenty of power to play with.

True, if you are just going to use your truck as a daily driver/ toy hauler, the edge juice/ attitude monitor is probably the way to go. That way you will get a full set of guages and a programmer in one, plus you will get the added safety features of the edge so you can't jack anything up...
